T.A. Charon painting on a picture perfect Tamworth day.

The Tamworth Visitors Council (tamworthusa.com) has planned a wonderful four-day experience for artists, collectors, and art lovers to enjoy and celebrate plein air painters and their works in nature here in Tamworth.

Wet Paint is dedicated to preserving the rich artistic legacy established by many early Plein Air Artists. Artists from around the country, as well as local celebrity artists, will be painting scenes in Tamworth during the fifth annual celebration.

The week will kick off with a meet and greet welcome Spaghetti Dinner prepared by The Farmstand B+B at The Preserve at Chocorua on April 30th from 6:30-8:30pm, where artists can mingle with local and visiting art collectors and art lovers. RSVP below.

Throughout the week, the public is welcome to come and visit the Hayford Barn at The Preserve to view the wet walls, where the progress of each day’s works by the artists will be displayed to create a living gallery.

The Artist Reception will be featuring an Art Show to celebrate the week of plein air painting in the timeless Hayford Barn at The Preserve at Chocorua on May 2nd from 5:00-7:30pm. At the reception you will find artists, art lovers, collectors and some of the finest plein air art you will find. This event is free and open to the public.

Join Emily Burdett, a 200hr registered yoga teacher, on a restful weekend retreat at the Preserve, from Thursday February 29th - Sunday March 3rd. The long-weekend is designed to be more than just yoga: it gives you full opportunity to move intuitively, eat well, laugh often, connect with new and old friends, find slowness for easeful introspection and deeply (and intentionally) rest. Coming together in the beautiful barn, you will practice two yoga classes a day designed to help peel back the layers of stress and stagnancy that the winter season may have coated on.

Alongside the physical yoga practice, Emily facilitates immersive sound healing sessions, journal prompts for reflection and provides hands-on assists/adjustments with aromatherapy. There will be opportunity for bookable on-site massage and reiki sessions and plenty of time to explore the surrounding area, hike the grounds, curl up with a good book, sit by the fire or simply just stay in with a cozy blanket during the day.

The retreat package will include:

  • A three night stay in the farmhouse

  • Six yoga practices

    • More dynamic movement in the morning, slower flow in the evening

  • Six nourishing vegetarian meals with a midday snack

  • Guided meditation and sound healing

  • Access to the grounds for walking, hiking, exploring, etc.

  • Local goodies to take home with you

If interested, please send Emily (emburdyoga@gmail.com) for pricing and room options.
